I had to pre-twist mine in the opposite direction first, so after I was done tightening everything was in order.
that said-if you are dealing witha flexible line, and there re no kinks are no strains on the bends, I would not expect that to be a point of failure.
then again, with brakes, it is nice to have a sense of confindence knowing its all back together properly.
