So basically you're saying the new hose will stretch wide enough to get the job done. Since I haven't taken the old hose apart yet I'm probably also visualizing the metal part wrong, from what you are saying it sounds like the top part just tapers off to the coolant fitting. I was imagining a more cylindrical affair with the fitting branching off the side of the main tube.
I just wanted to be sure what I was getting into before tearing up a nearly $60 hose! Maybe I'll leave it out in the sun for a while to make it more pliable and easier to work with. Thanks!
Once that's together I'll just need to deal with the busted fitting/nipple on the air intake hose. I'm thinking RTV or "The Right Stuff" might do the trick there to seal that end of the PCV.
