CGwiz has a point.
Where the ball swivel is isn't anything other than a loose somewhat flexible connection. Pop open the nylon socket, dump the broken ball out of it, then pop it closed again and drill a hole thru back side of the socket, and also one thru the ear on the bellcrank. Then link the rod to the bellcrank with some sort of loose connection. Maybe even a tiny zip tie, or a loop of wire.
But the simplest and really best solution is to fix whatever is wrong with the electric door lock-unlock system. That ball link rod is only there as a failsafe backup if you have no power in your car and if that ever happens you can always get in thru the passenger door.
The central locking module can have problems, all addressed on here in prior posts and pretty easily fixed. The door lock motors apparently also can have failures, and the solution is either one from another car or buy a universal one, both cheap solutions.
And the door latch works can cause apparent trouble with the electric locking system if it is so stiff from age and lack of lube that it doesn't want to move when pushed on and pulled.
The stiff latch works is probably a big part of your trouble, DET. That's probably why the ball end cracked off the lock cylinder. Once the latch works is all free-moving try the electric locking system and if any problems with it fix them.
Personally I'd just pop the other end of that ball link rod off the latchworks and rely entirely on the electric locking system. As I said you'll only miss the ball link if your car battery ever dies and then you simply climb in the passgr. door and unlock driver door manually, pop hood, jump or charge or replace battery, and you're golden again.
