How reliable are 97 9000 AEROs? Posted by Paul [Email] (#792) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Paul) on Sat, 25 Nov 2000 15:15:00 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I got rid of my 1992 9000 last year because it had become unreliable (mulitple failures of serpentine belt and pulley assembly; windows falling out of their tracks; fuel pump died, etc.) I need a car that starts and runs every day and won't be a hassle. I bought a 2000 9-3, which has been very reliable, but is a bit small, and I am thinking of replacing it. (I would have bought a 9-5 liftback if they made one--I am sold on the utility of the liftback and don't want a station wagon).
I am thinking about going back to a later model 9000 and would like opinions on reliablity. I would probably buy a 1997 9000 AERO or 1998 9000 CSE. Will I have the same parade of repairs and hassles that I had with my 92? What are the chronic issues and can they be minimized with some preventive maintenance/repair work?
Thanks.
