'97 9000 Aero with no / low boost - the solution was....

I posted a message before Christmas, and the general concensus was that the BPC solenoid had packed up. I removed and cleaned it - no effect. I then disconnected it and ran the car to see if there was any effect. The car felt no different, so I naturally assumed the solenoid wasn't doing its thing. So car went in to Saab on the 27th. The BPC solenoid was absolutely fine - apparently the control rod on the wastegate of the turbo itself had "come adrift", and the wastegate was presumably stuck fully open, or as near as damnit. Anyway the upshot of it is the car is now absolutely flying, spinning wheels in third gear in the dry, to the point where I wouldn't be surprised if this car has a remapped ECU, 'cos it certainly feels like more than 225bhp (and bear in mind that I was running a 280bhp Subaru Impreza before this). The car is now healthier than it was when I bought it in September. The APC guage consistently reads off the scale through the red (is this OK....?).
Question is, how do I tell if the ECU has been remapped (short of putting it on a rolling road)? Do other's Aeros feel like this...?
Cheers,
Zip
