Well, I'm starting to get somewhere on my boost problems/upgrades, thanks to everyone's assistance and checking the archives.

I replaced the wierd plugs that were in it with the proper NKG BCP7ES plugs, and adjusted the timing to 16 degrees BTDC (dizzy vac off and plugged). I am now getting very good boost up into the border of the yellow/red zone, though at this point it still won't go into the red. I hooked a vac/psi gauge up to a T-fitting inline with the boost gauge to see what I was really getting and it seemed to peak out about 14-15psi, or maybe a little lower (it's hard to concentrate on the gauge AND keep from ramming my car into the back of slower vehicles!).

Ok, now here's the thing -- this particular tank of fuel happens to be 87 octane! LOL :-) If I am correct, the APC is doing its job and limiting boost due to the low grade fuel. How much boost should I (theoretically) be able to get additional w/o knock if I run 93 octane?

I would like to get that gauge over into the red zone, and am wondering if it's just the gas holding me back, or if I need to keep troubleshooting things. (BTW, my base boost is 5.5PSI currently, and I have an upgraded APC, but stock FPR). I will be putting a 3.0bar FPR in soon -- could it be this in combination with the low-grade fuel perhaps that's holding me back? Suggestions?
