Ron-- I tried the coat hanger trick on my 91 9k and couldn't get enough force generated to pull the radio. If all else fails, find a couple of 3-4 inch long bolts that are just fat enough to thread into the holes on the radio. Drill two holes into a board, put the bolts thru the wooden board and thread into your radio holes. Now tug! Leverage and equal force provided by the wooden board worked for me, and you cannot tell the radio holes were threaded. Good Luck!!
