Keith, that is an outstanding deal. Have you replaced the turbo yet?
I had to replace the Mitsubishi TD-04 on my '98. Did a lot of research
into pricing. I ended up buying one from my local Saab dealer w/a 20%
discount, but later found that there were several Swedish performance
sellers (Speedparts, and BSR are two)where I could have saved over a
hundred bucks, even with the shipping. Anyway, as far as the TCS is
concerned: I once transplanted a '94 engine and transaxle into a '92
vehicle which had TCS. The TCS is integrated with the ABS system and
the T-body. They're monitored by the ECU that's under your drivers
seat. Once that T-body is changed and the ECU is disconnected, the
TCS is a thing of history. However, a functioning TCS during winter
or slick conditions can't be appreciated till one experiences it in
operation. And, if properly maintained, making sure that all electrical connections have been coated with something like DC4, which keeps
moisture from causing problems, then problems such as those that one
frequently hears about on this board might occur less frequently. Another
suggestion is that you change the ATF yearly. Happy Aeroing!
