Down in Florida I've learned quickly what a 20 degree temp change does for power. The way the engine pulls when it's 90 degrees out sucks compared to when it drops to 70. I can only imagine how bad it would be with the air from under the hood.
I am avoiding the open filter because I'm not generating that kind of power and I'm concerned about a big storm letting water into the engine. Even though the compartment is covered it's not water tight and it pours like hell here.
If anyone has pictures of the airbox, the wheel well, and all related structures, the owner of http://www.autophysics.com/index.html asked for them so he could try to construct something specific for saab, he asked them to be emailed. But be warned he thinks all saab owners are loaded :).
