seems like you're going out of your way to find reasons NOT to buy the car, and I would suggest to you that you not buy it. Not every car is for everybody. Reading your past posts, it seems as if you go out of your way to bad mouth the cars, even going so far as to make things up to make a point (i.e. Jaguar at Talledaga in 1953, THAT was a good one, Honda 'MTF', i stopped reading your drivel at that point).
BTW, i couldn't help but notice your backhanded remark regarding 'prestige'. True, saabs have somewhat of a yuppie reputation, but most of us were driving them when they weren't anything to the general public except weird. I think it's funny that you point out snidely metnion 'prestige' and then with a straight face talk about buying a Jag. LMFAO. Talk about a nicely shaped pile of &$&$ whos only redeeming quality IS it's perceived prestige...Unless you're talking a Jag within the last 4 years, your reliability is directly related to how hung over the Brits were the day your car was assembled....Get a Jag built on a Monday, you're in for a world of hurt :)
Please, buy something other than a saab, it gets old having you come here and whining about a car you don't even own. What happened, did a family member get run over in a saab or something?
i'm on my seventh saab, and i'm not a blinded fanatic. I'm fully aware of the shortcomings of the car, and I maintain and service accordingly.
EVERY car has it's weak points. Every talks about Honda reliability...All i know is Honda's seem to eat distributors, just changed out the distributor AGAIN in my aunties 93' Accord (380 bux NEW from Honda both times), have changed the distributors in two other Hondas owned by friends.
Hmmm, a peripheral check on Aunties car shows that she needs a new radiator (again), front rotors are warped (again), and the transmission mount is shot (~400 bux for a transmission mount?!?!). Does that mean Hondas are crap? Nope.
With regards to your post, if the car has had that much replaced in only first 70K miles, either the car was abused, the odometer has been rolled back, or something does not add up.
Sometimes the slowest most careful drivers are the ones who are most abusive to a car. If the car needed rotors replaced that soon, along with some of the other repairs that have done, I would guess the owner could screw up a cannonball if given half a chance.
