I just went through this scenario with our 1994 9000 Aero a few months back. Essentially, the problem will boil down to your needing a new clutch master cylinder (the relatively cheap alternative ($130 or so for the part plus and hours labor)) or needing a clutch slave cylinder (which requires removal of the trans from the car, and given the labor involved it then pays to also replace the clutch and all associated parts ($1,000+ for this operation). The dealer should first just replace the clutch master cylinder in the hope that this is the problem. If it turns out that replacing the clutch master cylinder does not correct the problem, then replacement of the entire clutch system would be called for.
