First was the alternator regulator/brush pack. Could have avoided being stranded if the alternator light had come on, or had I been paying attention to the voltage in the first place.. :)

Second was the automatic transmission failure. I don't really count this though, as a month before, it made a really bad noise like something snapped inside, and I knew it had to be taken out and replaced, so I drove it another month, at which point, it disconnected itself from the engine completely. :) During that month, it just shifted at all the wrong spots and was kinda rough.

Third would be the ignition system. First it was the ignition amplifier module, which caused me to have no spark whatsoever. Everything seemed fine for a year, then the problem returned with more vengeance. Car would die, would not restart (tach needle would not bounce), but a few hours later it would start up as if nothing had happened. How long it ran though, was anyone's guess, until waiting another few hours.. Replaced the ignition amplifier again, with no improvement. Threw the old ignition amp back in (this would be the one I had put in a year prior), and had a good used distributor put in. It has run fine for the past 15 months, knock on wood!

Finally, I too was victim to a slave cylinder failure. It too was somewhat intermittent though, depending on it's mood, the clutch did or didn't work..

Think that is it... note that the ignition problem left me stranded no less than four times! Intermittent problems are by far the WORST.
