my '87 9000s left me high'n dry only twice in 235k miles. first time at night on a brewsky run, stopped at a stoplight, and 'pop!' the hydro. hose between slave and master. later found the cause to be location of the hose and proximity of battery. over time sulfuric acid deteriorated hose at crimp fitting. second time was strange. it ran perfectly, pulled into a park spot, and it never restarted. turned out to be the mass airflow sensor @ 175k miles.
