stepper motor isn't being directed properly.
The blend sensor works in concert with the cabin air temp sensor. these control the quality of the heat/cool air. the recirculation motor controls the flap which diverts the air over the heater core or shuts it off. B3lieve this is your most suspect cause check between pins 24 and 5 on your controller connector there should be 50 ohm resistance. if that is goog connect plug and turn on system connect positive lead to pin 1 and negative lead to pin 2 select in car circulation watch for door to move the voltage across meter should be about 11 volts. the green light on recirc should come on but if motor does not switch positions then you need a new motor. The way the Saab unit works is you get cold air all the time and add heat to control the temp. The recirculation motor directs a certain amount of air to the heater core to add the heat.
If your system is malfubnctioning you should get fault codes
X - 3621 when you enter ISAT code 279( x being either 5 or 3, 5 is permanent and 3 is intermittant)circulation door.
or X- 3623 when entering code 28B for stepper motor
or x- 3624 when entering code 27A for temp contro of stepper system
we could go into a lot more volt/ohm checks but these codes should determine which part or system is discrepant. I would push for all checks of components before even considering the head unit $$$$$.
