Don't blame the $$$ computer when it might just be the 39 cent plastic arm.
It could be the temp sensor or stepper motor, but I'll ask this - if you set the control to LO, the air should be cold no matter what the temperature sensor says. LO commands the stepper motor to move the air flap to the cold setting, period.
If you don't get cold air at the LO setting, then the mixer flap isn't moving. SInce you passed the self test, the actuator (stepper motor) is moving. It just isn't moving the flap. This could be because the arm fell off the stepper motor (inside the dash behind/beside the glove box), the wire from the stepper arm to the arm on the flap fell off, or most likely, the arm on the mixer flap broke. They do that.
Open the hood and remove the horizontal panel at the base of the windshield. Look to the left (passenger) side of the heater core in the center. You'll see a shaft coming sidewas out of the heater core, with an arm, connected to a stiff wire that goes back through the firewall. If that wire falls off, or the arm breaks, the flap will flap about, usually full cold or full hot. If the arm is broken, you may be able to repair it with Saab's mixer flap repair kit (Honest!) that costs about $8 from the dealer. If the arm isn't broken too close to the shaft, this will do the trick. If broken near the shaft, you may need to replace the flap. The flap is cheap, but replacing it requires almost as much labor as replacing a heater core.
Let's hope the wire just fell off, followed by the arm breaking near the tip.
Good luck!
