need opinions in buying decision

I'm on the verge of buying a 1993 9000 cd turbo 5spd with 200,000 kms on it. I test drove the car and everything seemed fine except for 2 things.
First, in 1st and 2nd gear under acceleration, the boost gauge would go to the beginning of the red. The acceleration was good and very pleasing. However, on the highway in 4th or 5th gear, under hard acceleration, I could only get the boost to register about 1/3 into the yellow. The feeling was quite "underwhelming" and not what I expected from the much revered 2.3 turbo.
Secondly, when the car idled (the car was parked,) I could feel a tremor through the steering wheel every few seconds. I guess I could get use to this if it's normal for this car. Somehow I thought since the 2.3 Turbo had balance shafts that the engine would be smoother at idle. Is this something I should be concerned with when making a purchasing decision.
The boost gauge reading worries me the most. The last thing I want to do is to purchase the car and then right away have to start repairing things. I know any used car will require maintenance but I don't want to start making monthly payments and then have to fork out big bucks for a turbo, a computer module or something expensive like that right off the bat.
Any responses, personal experiences or opinions are much appreciated.
Thanks.
