And here was I thinking it was because I'd had my engine replaced!
I hadn't actually noticed any difference, but I'm sure my car hasn't been running right since the dealer messed around with it over a period that included the fuel crisis. Runs much better now that someone else has had a go at setting it up.
So is Sainsbury's Super Unleaded 97, then? I can usually get 98 (Shell, Texaco, BP), but don't normally use Sainsbury's as there isn't a convenient one to me that sells petrol. I almost used them yesterday, but the queue was so huge that I went to Tesco instead. Guess what? They don't do Super Unleaded! I've got a tankfull of standard 95 - I fill it up through habit and only thought later that I should have bought just enough to get home plus a safety margin.
No idea why we pay so much. Is the tax on Super Unleaded higher? I always use it anyway, when I can, since my employer pays for my petrol (although I pay tax on the benefit). I always notice the difference.
