When I flushed my system a while back I used Havoline fluid which is labeled as "GM compatible." I found this fluid to be too thick and and made the steering very stiff, particularly in the morning. On the recomendation of someone on this board I flushed out the Havoline with Valvoline synthetic fluid (actually a blend I believe) and was very pleased with the results. It's been over a year and all is well. I haven't tried any other fluids so I don't know if this experience is typical. Be certain to get something labeled GM compatible, but because of the situation mentioned above I recommend the Valvoline. FYI, I believe I found it at Walmart in both the quart bottles and smaller top-up bottles. If you are just toping up a small leak I think about any GM compatible fluid would be fine, I guess the biggest choice would be between standard fluid and the stuff with "stop leak" in it.
