My '95 Aero started moving the gear lever at 90k, then deteriorated to where it started jumping out of both 3+4. They share something, because it is only with 3rd and 4th . I occasionally have to double clutch to get into 4th w/o grinding, indicating syncho serving 4th gear is bad. SAAB told me new transmission= 4k$$ . I told them not to hold their breath. Car now has 196k, and I now have to hold it in 3rd or 4th under load, or it comes out of gear. Also still double clutching to avoid grinding. I am still on my original clutch , and until I have to replace that, I will put up with this nuisance. I was appalled that tranny started to fail at 90k, SAAB USA was absolutely no help.
SAAB never mentioned a part that could be replaced, but you are looking at big $$ to remove tranny anyway. Nothing wrong with holding on the shift lever!
