I'm trying to add an MP3 player to my '95. It's a little more complicated than that and I'm exploring the most cost effective options using a combination of the stock Clarion unit and the Alpine CVA-1000.
I have replaced the stock Clarion unit with an Alpine CVA-1000 setup + a/d/s 640 amp. The #@?#@# with this is that the Alpine does not have any aux in. Instead, it relies on the Ai-Net bus. I'll need an Ai-Net processor that has an aux in.
So there are two problems to solve.
1) To have the MP3 player feed its output into the Clarion. I'm going to take a look at the connector at the back of the Clarion, but don't think it's going to help too much.
2) To mix or switch between the outputs of the Alpine and Clarion into the amp.
(2) sounds really tough except for the fact that the amp might have 2 sets of inputs. I'll need to dig up the docs.
I'll really appreciate any help on (1).
Thanks
