First off, is the ABS pump running? I ask because you can have ABS pressure but no assist if the brake booster has failed.
Start the car and listen for the ABS pump running. If the brake fluid level in the reservoir DROPS down to the "FULL CHARGED ACCUMULATOR" line, then you know the ABS pump is running, the accumulator is charged, and the switches are good. Chances are you've got a bad brake booster, which means rebuilding the master cylinder.
If the ABS and BRAKE FLUID come on for a while and the level drops, then the lights go out, it's the brake booster. If the ABS and BRAKE FLUID lights DON'T come on, and the level stays up, and the ABS pump doesn't run, then it's the pressure switch.
Remember, the pressure switches drive an ABS pump relay, which in turn drives the pump. It could be anywhere in there. What you need to do is get the '88 9KT electrical manual. You could jumper the switch and see if the pump runs - if not, then start tracing through the relay to the pump.
It's a lot to describe the schematic in words - get the manual. Otherwise, post back with the information (do the lights come on, go out, pump run, etc.), and we can take it one step at a time.
