The key is whether you do your own work or not. If not, then the warranty is probably a good idea. The labor is the thing that will kill you. Your advisors are probably either mechanics or armchair third party advisors. Everything changes when you have to get greasy! Paying someone else to get greasy on an "upper-crust" car is a really expensive proposition.
100 K miles is a major turning point. The warranty may or may not help you, since it won't cover you past that, but I would bet thet you would break even. If you don't do your own work. Big demarcation point, that. At the mercy of others? Get the warranty. Very savvy about cars and do your own work? Pass. That is the line of demarcation.
Do the maintenance, do the maintenance, do the damn maintenance! If you do, you might not break even on the warranty, but you will be ahead! Fail to do the maintenance and you will be in Saab Hell! And Saab hell is a difinitive brand of hell. Failure to do the maintenance will hurt you way beyond any warranty you can buy.
Motor mounts are defnitely a 9000 weakness. 900? I don't know, but they can't be any weaker than the 9000 mounts. The 9000 mounts protect you from nasty vibes, but thay aren't built to last. They aren't solid like a Chevy. Nuff said?
