I can't see the rear mount having to flex anywhere near as much as the front. The torque arm resists rearward movement, so the front mount will tend to extend quite a bit, but I would think the main stress on the rear mount would be compression, not extension. But then, when you let off the throttle abruptly, the rear might tend to extend dramatically. Both my 91 mounts were identical, so each had the inverted-U bracket. Again though, I think the brunt of the stress is on the front mount.
