On both my Saabs I've had a glass-mount antenna at the top of the hatch. My Nokia kit came with a long one but the fitter swapped it FOC for one about 7.5 cm long, which can be unscrewed but is bendy so car-washes don't worry it anyway. These antennae are not amplified but seem to work well.
I also transferred to the new car the neat bracket from my first installation, one end of which which secures to a screw at the top of the cubby hole/storage compartment, whatever you call it. The other end sticks to the edge of the dash panel with double-sided. The cable can sneak behind the bracket, hidden from view. We put the speaker in the passenger footwell which works fine and doesn't seem to get kicked.
Finally, Jason the fitter found the connection on my Blaupunkt radio/tape/CD which cuts the volume when I get a call and says "Telefon" instead of "Radio 4". Nirvana! Thank you, Carphone Warehouse.
