93 9kt 2.0LPT in Hong Kong:
Not particularly happy with the performance of my turbo charger, I inspected my turbo's wastegate lever. It is movable and looks and feels fine. I tried to shorten it but proved very very difficult. The lever is well hidden above the big exhaust pipe (looking from underneath). I will make a second try.
Without touching the wastegate, I wonder if I can re-calibrate my APC. Can I do this: 1) Disconnect the battery for a while, reconnect it; 2) warm up the car; 3) drive it harder than normal under boost?
I am usually a rather gentle driver but prefer an earlier activation of the turbo charger. Is re-calibrating the APC the way to achieve this?
Some while ago, AERO GUY told me in a BB that earlier activation of turbo=better gas mileage (assuming one is not overly aggressive in pushing the car).
TIA!
