More on Speedometer Error...

I went for a 250 mile trip today and had the oportunity to compare indicated speed to actual speed (as indicated by a hand help GPS.) I thought some others might be interested in the results. My car is an '87 9kT that specifies 205/55 tires, but is currently wearing 195/60 Firestone Firehawk GTAs, which were kindly provided by the previous owner and are quite mediocre and rather determined to never wear out. The wheels are dealer-installed Super Incas in the same size as stock (15x6). At all tested speed from an indicated 60-90mph the speedometer indicated about 4mph high. It did not seem to deviate from the error any more or less depending on road speed, though I did not test at speeds lower the 60mph. The question is whether the turbo cars (with 205/55 tires) and naturally aspirated cars (with 195/60 tires) have the same speedometer gearing. I believe they do, but either way the inaccuracy would be even more pronounced with the 205/55 tires which are apporximately .33" smaller in diameter. Any thought welcome.
Craig
