BOOST, Finally!

I installed saabperformanceparts.com's high-pressure turbo bypass valve yesterday, and replaced all the vacuum hoses with new silicone beauties. Now I am finally able to take advantage of my car's true boost. I have a couple of questions for the pros on this board, thanks ahead of time for your input.
Now my boost needle is all over the place. It used to sit between the grey and yellow, and then it would go to the 3/4 point in the yellow at what I thought was full boost. Now it goes way down, especially on deceleration, to almost 9 o'clock, and then up to the end of the yellow at it's top boost. Is this normal? I have checked all hoses and clamps for leaks and everything appears to be nice and snug.
Also, my car now dies at stop lights half the time, and the other half the time the rpm's drop to two or three hundred when I come to a stop in neutral. Don't get me wrong, I love this car, we are still in the courting stage of our relationship, but I am not going to give up on her. Thanks for reading my saga.
