Hello!
Anyone have the following problem with their 9000 automatic (ZF 4HP-18)?
Mine works perfect when I first start off, and either leave it in "3", or manually shift between 1,2 and 3. However, the minute I move the selector into "D" and it goes into overdrive, it feels as if it starts "slipping". As long as I leave it in 3, or move it from 2 to 1 or anything it works great. The problems start if I move the lever into reverse, neutral or Park and then try to go back into any forward gear. It just slips, and can't catch up with the engine RPM's.
So far, I've taken out the valve body, and had a Saab dealer go through it. They found nothing, but replaced a few springs to be safe. Next, I took out the governer, but the split ring and (2) rubber sealing rings are intact. I'm going to replace those also.
My questions are:
1. Would a loose fitting sealing ring in the governer cause that problem?
2. If that does not fix the problem, any other ideas short of pulling the entire unit?
Thanks!
