I have had three (3) Saabs (85 900t 208k, 909kt 204k, 909kt 121k) totaled, not my fault, and have learned a little about getting more from insurence companies. All were in excellent condition with the book value far under what it would take to replace. Do the following:

-Send the ins. adjuster all you repair bills. They know the value of used saab parts and this will help them justify a higher price.
-Check all used car value sources, pick the highest one and sent to adjuster.
-Talk to the nearest dealer sales manager and make sure he talks to the adjuster about what he could get for such a cream puff. This is espically effective if the dealer has serviced the car.
-If possible, find your replacement car with the same dealer.

I used this approach and ended up exchanging a wreaked, 909kt auto, 121k for creampuff 95 cs, 117k for a total of $5.56.
The book value of the 90kt was $5,600. The dealer sales manager told the aduster he would buy it for that and put in on the lot for $7,900 because he had the service records. The dealer wanted $9,900 for the 95cs 5spd. The insurence company gave me $6,994.44 and the dealer came down to $7,000, tax, and title included, as is. The car is perfect except for the drivers side seat heater.

I am very pleased with the outcome.

Good luck!

Jack b
