Jacking point question

My Haynes manual describes two places to jack the car. One in front and one in back. I have to jack the car up quite a way before I can get the jack stand in at the slotted jacking points on the side of the car, plus these places lift both sides of the car at once. I only want to lift one side at a time when I rotate tires so I’ve been looking under my car and I’ve found a couple places that might also work. I’d like opinions as to whether any damage would occur if I use them.

The front place is the rear part of the sub frame that holds the lower suspension arm. There is a circular opening just in front of the rear two bolts that would hold my jack pad perfectly. It is a very hefty piece of steel. I feel the steel wouldn’t bend, but will that put too much pressure on the floor pan at that point? If you look at the place where the car jack goes it will be just inboard and a little forward of the jack slots. Since that sub frame supports the weight of the suspension, wouldn’t it also support the weight of the car until I could get the jack stands under the jacking points?

The rear place I have in mind is about mid way along the trailing arm of the rear suspension. There is also a nice spot there that my jack will fit into nicely. Again, this is a very hefty piece of steel. An advantage of using this spot is that the wheel would start coming up as soon as I started jacking, reducing the height I would have to jack up to.

Both of these spots look like good jacking points to me, but I’d like to get some other opinions before I actually do it.
