After lots of palaver here on the BB and reading others' comments, I had a set of 712's put on my 91 9kT last week. So far, I am pleased on all but one count. The tires ride smoothly, grip well (only dry weather so far), seem very quiet after previous rubber (on car when purchased 25k ago: Goodyear T/A front, Nokian rear--finally wore them to the point of justifying replacement!)

The one negative count is not the Kumho's fault. The 91 9kT spec is for 205/50R16; since the Aero spec is 205/55, I went for that. They don't look as good to me--the old size had a sexiness to it that has been replaced by one of burly muscle. Also, and I don't think this is my imagination, the increase in tire size has had some impact on performance. As 91T owners know, there is an edginess to the power in that year--it just wants to jump and jump NOW. With tire change, my car is now much more like the 94 Aero I drove a couple of weeks ago: 1st gear is longer, 2nd is less available at a creep, there's no longer quite the same "just ask" message coming back. But--it's all smoother, power comes in a more sustained and turbine-like way. It feels more like a long-distance cruiser than a street racer now.
