1) child lock is not engaged? Probably a disconnected rod. Remove door panel and investigate.
2) If the cable is still good (not twisted), the sheath can be fixed with a bit of poly (white) tubing slid over and glued to hold the original parts together. The dealer sheath was quoted as 50.00 each. The seat is easier to do once removed from car.
3) no idea. Look for 12V and ground and compare side to side.
4) http://www.griotsgarage.com has Leather Rejuvenator and Leather care which are both great leather products to keep it soft and supple. Recoloring, you will have to contact an interior repair shop. They do it all the time. If you are having trouble finding someone, contact a used car dealer and maybe he can help you find someone.
