I had the same problem. The longer you leave it, the worst it gets. I tracked down the cause to the roof rack holes in the roof (these are located on the roof to the doors hidden uder the rubber seals) one of thsese caps had come off, and so the fabric had soaked up water. I filled thses holes with some silcone.
Firstly I went to a trimmers, they wanted £300 ($600).
Then I did a couple of DIY things which did not work. Firstly I got a syringe, filled it with glu, but the glu was too thick to even go through the needle.
Then I bought some fabric spray glue. I took the handles of the roof, which left a big enough hole to get the nozzel in. I srayed, then pressed the lining down. This worked (Hooray), but only for three days. The fbric had soaked up water, and so the glue had no strenght.
I went down the breakers yard (dismantlers, scrap yard) and got a headlining for £10 ($5). I replaced it within 30 to 45 mins( This included removing the old one, and putting the new one)
There is my story!
