Have a look at my post a couple below this - I've listed the wiring at the amp connector and my guess is that its the same at the head unit end also.
The yellow wire is a remote power feed to switch on the amp under the seat (drivers side in the UK!) By connecting it to the antenna switch outlet you've supplied the amp with power - hence the sound.
It may be that you've hardwired the speaker level output from the head-unit to the low level amp input wires - there would be a considerable level mismatch which might account for your distortion.
Seems to me you've got some choices:
If the Blaupunkt has a pre amp out then you could wire this to the amp in put and use the OEM amp so bypassing the headunit amplifier.(But you will probably find the B'punkt is more powerful anyway)
Run speaker output leads from the B'punkt to the underseat amp, cut the connector speaker wires there and reconnect to your new speaker leads. This way you'll then make use of the headunit's internal amp.
Don't forget to disconnect the yellow wire so the old amp doesn't power up.
Should be easy to put back to standard should you wish to sell the car and keep the headunit.
