I have 168K on my 93 9000 CS and it still has the original clutch. From my ownership of other standard-shift cars and the mostly highway driving I do I've always expected a clutch to last the life of the car or at least 150K, to say the least.
My local SAAB shop had my 9K in at about 95K for a clutch slave cylinder. Told me they "usually" do a clutch job when they have the thing apart. Said there was "fluid spilled on it". I suggested they wipe it off an put the thing back together. Driven fine since. Saved me some nice bucks too.
Maybe I've been joe lucky or have a light foot. Two 911s, a 944, a Fiat Spyder, coupla 260Zs and no dead clutches. My 2 cents.
