never occured to airplane mechanics, who only use nuts, washers and bolts. Self tappers are an accident waiting to happen in an aircraft. Remember you have a car made by an airplane company who, by the way, also make automobiles calles Saabs! SAAB- Swedish Airplanes, Always But (we also make funny looking cars!)
As an aside- the arm rest tend to loosen quickly and you may find yorself retorquing often. so don't throw away the nuts and bolts. I had to put a world of hurt on my bolts before the rest stopped moving around - just a thought.
