... Saabs are tough. I Once had to nurse a 900 several hundred miles with a partially plugged radiator. It ran very close to red part of the way, and closer than I would have liked the rest of the way, but there were no ill effects. If you stayed out of the red, you're almost certainly OK. Not the best way to treat a car, but Saab engines can take a lot of temperature abuse when they have to.
