Depends on what you mean by shroud.
There is a plastic cover on the bottom of the DI cassette that you can remove with a few Torx screws. If that plastic cover (shroud?) is cracked, it doesn't mean the DI needs replacement, but I would wonder why it was cracked. This plastic covers the electronics AND coils.
Once you pull the cover off, you will see the electronics' circuit board and four white plastic tubs with the coils inside. If those plastic tubes are cracked and leaking, then the DI is headed for the exits, and a new one is in order. Also look at the circuit board for signs of overheating.
But if the white plastic tubes are in good shape, not leaking, and all with oil (almost full), then you may just have a cracked plastic cover. But if that oil on top of the spark plugs came from the DI, then the DI needs replacement.
