the gearing will be taller than what you have. You'll probably
notice a big difference - it'll seem like you're running with the
emergency brake on - that is, if the '93 came out of a turbo
equipped engine. Any transaxle from a '91-'93 will bolt right
up to your engine. Because yours is normally aspirated (NA), Saab
used a shorter final drive ratio to make up for the power difference
of a turbo. If you put a turbo transaxle in there, you'll notice a huge
drop in rpms at a given speed on the highway. I'm pretty sure that
most of the '93 CSE's were turbos, so the final drive ratio will be
3.61:1 vs. 4.45:1 for the NA. It'll work, but it won't be as quick off
the line, which may not matter to you. Just curious, what are they
asking for the transaxle? I recently bought a '98 CSE 5speed for
$1000 with only 4k miles on it.
