Peter is corect that the passenger side wheel has nothing to do with the procedure, provided if you do not intend to remove the intermediate shaft (and the rear mount) first and install it afterward. My guess is you'll need a transmission jack to allign both the engine output shaft and the passenger side drive shaft at the same time. Something I found impossible to do without the jack.
Another factor which affected my later approach to remove the intermediate shaft first and install it last was my concern of potentially damaging the shaft (which is an aluminum alloy hollow tube with serrations on the inside at both ends) during installation if I were to allign the transmission to two shafts (engine output shaft and the intermediate shaft)simultaneously. That was my third intermediate shaft (at $165 a piece) in 2,000 miles after an engine change out not paying attention to the engine I put in has an auto tranny and the rear engine mount is different than that for a 5 spd. There are a few others on this board who have the same experience as I did going through two to three shafts during engine change out.
Also mine is a '94CS. Don't know who's case is more applicable to you.
