SPG (Saab Performance Group) but the Talladegas were primarily a special color, interior and a FPT engine 2.0 litre engine. Some had body kits on special order, but these were not really early Aeros per se. They did go fairly well in the turbo version about 175-80 hp not quite as fast as the 900 SPG 175 because of weight. The performance cars were referred to as Carlssons those were 204 hp 2.0 engines and really went! They also had gearing that would allow the cars to wind to 148 MPH, much faster than the Talladegas 137 MPH top speed. I do not believe there were any Talladegas after 88-89 but I could be wrong. A Talladega can be identified by the seats and colors. A Talladega body kit was made available but dropped in 1989. The Aero prototype was the 92 European TSA which was a full 225-230 hp 2.3 engine but with low gearing and a top end of only 139 MPH. A very few TSAs made it to the states which were purchased in Europe under the IDS program or Status of Forces contracts with Saab.
