I just went through this last week- you can see my post down there somewhere. Anyway, the red relay for a/c resides behind the glove box- take out six torx screws and carefully pull whole box out into your lap. two more torx screws allow the fuse panel to hinge down into the glove box void- you will see all important relays in front of you. Refer to top of glove box for listing of relay functions. Find a/c relay and pull it out with car off- look for signs of heat damage. My relay would still kick in compressor but not the fan (two seperate cicuits withing relay). The relay gets a signal from ignition to start a count-down function until it engages. It sounds like only your compressor half of relay works. I replaced my relay with one from a salvage yard. You may be able to open your relay up and clean it. One of the tongues of my relay really gotten hot and the solder released. Good luck and let us know what you find.
