the fuel rail and injectors by installing combustable cleaning fuel after disconnecting the fuel line and hooking this up to your car. It apparently works quite well, but it is expensive process which I prefer to do myself. I remove the injectors, replce o'rings, clean screens, check resistance of the coils and then pressurize them to 90 psi with Xylene and apply a voltage to them. This momentarily "pops" the injector and the spray pattern can be seen. I have found quite a few injectors that leak before applying voltage these can create problems and misses. I don't know any thing about Haynes but I understand they have a fuel injection book which may cover this process. The biggest suggestion is to use a good quality gasoline like Chevron and don't switch. Many of the "all brand" gasolines will have minute iron particles because the cracking plants are not well maintained and scale drifts into the product. There was a real serious problem in the mountain states years ago with the Bay refiners putting out dirty gasoline and I believe it got so bad they stopped producing gasoline and concentrated on fuel oil. I have found some iron particles in other cars but never in a Saab. Better filters?
