Another turn brought it up to about 0.48 bar according to my little gauge (which I think might read slightly high, since I see peak boost about 1.2 bar backing down to 1.0, rather than the 1.1 backing off to 0.91 you mentioned).
Well, what a difference! It pulls smoothly and strongly now from low down, whereas before, the boost was a bit like a damp squib followed by a firecracker. 2nd gear gives a lovely strong, hard pull, and boost is generally more accessible. No sign of fuel cut-off.
This underlines once again - if you want more power, set the car up properly first and see what the factory gave you, before starting to modify it. (I'm still going to fit the JT exhaust, though).
Thanks again. Can I post that data on my web site? I realise it's specific to the '96 Aero 225HP, but I can make that clear to folks for now and add to it later.
