Aero base boost is the same for all R engines with TD 04 Turbo BUT max boost is different for various years because of tuning and other considerationsof the trionic design factors: Mid to late 1996 and all 97s was the introduction of "Momentary overboost"
Base is 0.42 -0.48 Bar 93-97 Aeros
Manual gearbox Max Boost is 0.99-1.05 Bar (1993 0nly)
" " " " " 1.05- 1.11Bar (94-95 0nly- without IHP), (with IHP= 0.92 Bar, MY95-97.
Manual Gearbox Max Boost is 0.91 ,1996-97, momentary 1.15Bar.
Measurement of 96 and 97 cars was limiter to measurement of boost at 3500 rpm and 20 C ambient, sealevel pressure. This is not maximum boost (0.91) but where it will be at this RPM. Because of trionic scheduling the solenoid(BPS)is scheduled to divert less boost bleed to the wastegate and a steeper boost curve is attained. Looking at the Horsepower response vice boost curve, the curve becomes more verticle at about 3300-3400 and up to around 4000 rpm then a pitch over and a very sharp break at 5000 rpm with a corresponding rapid drop in torque beginning at 4100 rpm. This essentially scheduled a near verticle rise in torque from 1700 to a max at 1900 and absolutely flat torque from 1900 to 4000 (95-97).
The 92TSA,93-94 had 8 Nm more torque across the range but at 1900 RPM had a spike of 14 Nm more torque than later cars. Maybe that explains why the 92TSA and very early 93 Aero (with 75404 gearing) were a little quicker of the Aero lot. US Aeros 93 had taller gearing 75701(93 only) than European Aeros in 92-93 and 57001/57101 94 and up, all markets). Hope this fully explains the power scheme and gearing for you. Although you didn't ask about gearing, I providerd so you may see that the gearing was changed to correspond with torque scheduling changes that took place in various model years.
