I have a 1986 9000 turbo. I've also had my a/c repaired. They replaced the compressor, converted from R12 to R134a, new drier and expansion valve. It still doesn't feel like I have airconditioning. The mechanic said it's because the blower (located under the wipers) is taking in hot air. It has a fairly large gap which he said I should seal. The hot air taken in by the blower mixes with the cool air from the a/c therefore the air going inside the car is not that cold.
Does anyone have any experience on this? I am a little reserved about sealing the blower gap. There must be a purpose for that gap. Plus, the mechanic said it is really hard to take-out the blower, so I need to seal it maneuvering through very constrained space.
Thanks in advance. Felicia (Virginia)
