this job is almost all labor, let's see if it sounds fair or not.
Parts-head gasket, probably not even a set, just the cylinder heat gasket for around 60 bux, and intake and manifold gaskets, lets say 30. Maybe another 40 to resurface the head. Throw in a little extra to cover any misc. pieces and we'll be EXTRA generous and say parts are going to come to 200 dollars.
OK, so, if we use the low side of the quote and say 1000 dollars total, that leaves 800 dollars labor. If i take the local going norm for a good import indy shop of 65 dollars an hour, then that means you're paying for about 15+ hours of labor.
What does the Motors manual give for time on R & R the head for his car? sounds pretty steep to me.
