I agree with Sjer that the MB coolant isn't a panacea or miracle product. From what I've gleaned from years of haphazard research, the MB coolant is little more than a common ethylene-glycol formula without the green dye added. Further, from what I've heard the absence of phosphates isn't any or of little advantage to the health of your cooling system anyway. If this is important to anyone, Saab coolant is also phosphate-free.
I've gone to the orange-colored "extended life" coolants, specifically Prestone. They claim a five-year lifespan regardless of whether your car was originally equipped with it or not, as some have claimed that if a system is originally filled with the green stuff the orange coolant will never provide full life expectancy. Last year I changed with the Prestone orange coolant and will flush and replace every two years until I can get a handle on the reality of this coolant's life expectancy. Even if not, the orange formulae reportedly have ingredients that are easier on water-pump seals. For me, this alone was worth the switch to the more expensive orange stuff.
And of course, both my cars get regular doses of Bar's Leaks.
