I have noticed recently that the climate control in my Aero is feast or famine. With an outside temperature of about 70-75 degrees F, the A/C is blasting unless I set it at Hi, in which case the heat is blasting. This became most apparent on a recent rainy night. The outside temp was 72. I set the unit to defrost and ran the temp up to 82, hoping to demist the windshield. Instead, cold air was blowing out and the mist increased. Once set on high, we learned about the fine Scandinavian invention: the sauna. It became unbearably hot very quickly. So I switched the temp back to 82 and, you guessed it, cold air and fog again.
I recently had the 125k check up done, so I figured maybe the unit needed recalibration. I ran the diagnostics by Auto and <+> (vent) at the same time. "0" appeared on the temperature readout and then the system went through each of the air flow positions, then returned to the original setting and the original temperature was again displayed. From what I read on the Townsend site, this indicates the system is functioning correctly.
Could my problems have been a result of the dealer not recalibrating the system after disconnecting the ACC unit? Should the steps I've taken corrected my problems? Are there any other steps I can take to troubleshoot the system and isolate any possible problem areas.
