I've got 52K on a '92 - but that's a year newer.
When I get motor mounts, all I ever get is the metal 'pot' filled with rubber with a bolt sticking out. I always need to re-use the bracket.
Typically when the mounts fail, the center part (bolt) will actually lift out, with some rubber still attached. However, I did have one mount that stayed in one piece, but it just became VERY soft.
As to the modification, I'd go with bolts/screws. I'd worry about expoxy being able to hold to metal, and a tie-wrap may get hit a few times and break. The effort of drilling some holes is better than having to go back in there.
Also check the upper torque arm - it's the 'dogbone' between the top of the engine and the chassis. If the rubber bushings there are badly cracked, you can get a lot of engine movement.
